Mazda 6 EML & DSC lights on

Found 30th Oct 2015
So the old Mazda 6 diesel 2006 is playing up with the engine management light and the DSC light coming on.
Was serviced with a new DPF just 3 months ago.
Any ideas what it could be and is it safe to drive?
Thanks for any helpful advice

Get it diagnosed at a garage, I would drive as little as possible until you have it confirmed whats wrong, You risk causing more damage and possibly your safety in regards to the DSC.

Does the DSC light flash so many times? or is it constant? If it flashes that could be an indication of whats wrong.
Sounds like the common dpf fault, have you tried to do the regeneration? Should be in the handbook but something like you have to drive it over 3000 rpm for 20 minutes or so
Ill assume they couldnt regenerate the dpf and it was goosed ?
To reset the dsc
Turn ignition to on ... dont start
Turn steering full lock to the right then all the way to the left then back to centre
Turn ignition off for a few seconds then turn back on
Dsc light should go out
If it doesnt , disconnect battery for about 15 mins then repeat the above
This worked on a mazda 3 diesel and should be the same on a mazda 6
If that fails it will need plugging in (to find out fault and why eml is on)
