McClaren Double Buggy Recall - 1 million Pushchair recalled

Pushchair-maker Maclaren USA has announced a recall of 1m pushchairs after a dozen children had their fingertips amputated in the hinge.

The amputations happened when children placed their finger in the hinge while the pushchair, or stroller, was being unfolded.

The recall involves all Maclaren single and double umbrella pushchairs.

The firm has urged consumers to stop using the pushchairs immediately and to contact it for a repair kit.

cant find link to mclaren yet - bbc one is not working

    From the USA website

Consistent with our unwavering commitment to child safety we are providing U.S. consumers notice of a voluntary recall of all Maclaren umbrella strollers sold in the U.S. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, we are providing free of charge to all affected consumers and retailers a kit to cover the stroller's hinge mechanism, which poses a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is unfolding/opening the stroller. The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

    so are ours different?

    Does this effect us?

Well they are identical so i presume so

They are the same, just been on the news but because Europe hasn't repored as many casses of fingers being trapped they are only going to add more warnings and thats it. Maybe it is a common sense thing really, not to let your little ones near a metal moving mechanism !!! (don't know what this says about some Americans :whistling: )

Not good for customer relations tho is it, treating them different seems they dont care about anyone else.
