    3) I've always stuck to Slimfast, just because it's a name I know, not sure about any others. Never really had much luck with it though.

It's easy to make your own. Just buy a Big Mac meal and stick it in a blender.

    Done;-)

I know a few friends have tried these, the ones they had replaced the meals (they paid about £60 a week and got their supplies) yes they did loose a lot of weight very fast but both had a problem when eating normal meals again and both now weigh more than they did before the shakes.

I do know how hard loosing weight is as a few months ago decided to loose a stone and a half ,for me my portion size was the problem and lack of exercise, exercise is definately the key i cycle loads now ,try and find something you like and trust me it gets easier really quick.

    Anyway good luck

    How dare you remove gherkins:x

For building mass I'd recommend the myprotein supplements, but not meal replacement stuff.

Stick to a decent breakfast, lunch and dinner and supplement with high protein shakes.

Ive just started using tescos own brand (cheaper than slimfast ) they do powder form or ready made but the ready made seem expensive so sticking with powder at 3.77 a tub think its called tesco meal replacement chocolate strawberry or vanilla im only using it at the mo as a breakfast shake then as i get used to not eating ill possibly have one for lunch also

I started to get in shape begining March this year. In two-three months I had lost 4 inches (I dont know how much in weight). But in the end the idea is to look good, and i figured 4 inches is not bad. All I did was control portions. It is extremely difficult to do this the first week or two. The tips I used.
    1. Eat in a small tea plate with a tea spoon.. you take longer, your plate looks fuller. You end up eating less. Before you take seconds give a 3 min break and decide.. DO I NEED THIS?
    2. I resorted to havng sushi snack packs from tesco for a £1.. Get two for dinner, and eat one... wait for 10 mins and eat the other. You dont feel hungry afterwards.
    3. Soon your stomach wont demand soo much food.
    4. I never straved myself, and didnt bother with shakes or diets. I avoided mixing carbs and proteins in a meal, but did not follow it as a strict rule. I ate everything. If i orderd in a pizza, Id order 1 and split it into two. Freeze one half and eat the other.
    5. Also used it say "Its my body and my stomach" to myself a lot. This made me avoid finishing left overs just for the heck of it. If its gonna go bad.. so be it!!
    6. I used to go ballaistic on weekends.. eating out atleast 3-4 times.. but again.. small portions.
7 Best tip.. try kiddie meals.. you'll be surprised how good value for money they are and how filling they actually are, but in a good way. You dont feel bloated at all. Thats what I do now at services, just pick a kids meal for £3 and it has like 6- small things that keep you full for ages!!

Hope the above helps... Ive kept the weight off and am just doing normal walkign and stuff!! Dont have time to do much physically. If you gym a bit, I bet you'll shed fat really really fast.

I need 2 more inches before I level out to my desired waist!
