Meal Suggestions ...

I need to cook a meal of other other half this week, and considered king prawns and/or breast of chicken...

Other than Curry (which is an option if I have a really nice recipe), but apart from the every day meals, can someone suggest a nice main course I can cook...

Dont really have a budget, but just enough for a nice meal for 2 (no drinks included). Rep left for all.

hmm, might avoid prawns cos of dicky tummys.

Grilled steak with all the trimmings always goes down well here.

theres loads of recepies online, looking at something more adventurous will make it more impressive...and if it goes wrong have a pizza hut menu handy
I have always fancied making thai food, but never actually got round to trying it :(...might be a nice 'different' idea.
If your thinking normal and easy, what about spaghetti bolognaise or lasagne?

Chicken pie - Need chicken, Mushrooms, ham (optional) and 2x tins of condensed chicken soup also pastry (I use pre-made, pre-rolled from super market.

just mix chicken, m'rooms, ham and soup in a bowl, cover with pastry and bung in the oven for about 45mins @ about 200^C

Cambels soup makes the BEST pie mix ever!

chicken wraps???

dead east and quick to make

casserole? all in one pot and not too much prep

They have 2 x BIG sirloin steaks @ Sainsburys for £6. They are fantastic!

I have Levi Roots' recipe book (Reggae Reggae sauce guy) and there is one called 'Brown Stew Chicken with Yard-Style Gravy' that is SOOOO good it's untrue.

You can serve it with long grain rice mixed with black-eye peas and coconut cream, dumplings (i also have recipe for that), coleslaw and beetroot salad.

I cooked it yesterday and am going to finish some leftover later on :-D

It really is different and definitely special

Lemme know if you want the recipe

hehehe - in more ways than one! ;-)

PS: it was meant to say "for" - lol

Nevermind, Duck sounds the winner so far

errrm duck breast, on a bed of creamed mashed potatoe, with a morello cherry and port sauce (sauce uses a tin of pitted cherries and a good slog of port, and just heated for about 5 mins)

or a butter chicken curry

Next time I go to see my best mate I am cooking him Salmon cooked in a marinade i made (sliced garlic and ginger, sweet chilli sauce, honey and sesame oil... all amounts depend on what you like, lol) and then that is just pan fried, and served with what ever. I usualy do noodles and stir fried veg.

oh well, anyone suggest any good sites

the duck one is simple hun

pan fry the duck so that the skin is crispy and the outside is brown, then put it in the oven for around 20-30 minutes on gas mark 4, depends on how you like your meat cooked. and just serve with mashed pots, seasonal veg, and the cherry sauce (tin of cherrys, with a bit of port, cooked through)

I just love this one. The couscous is a doddle and the chicken isn't complicated to make either.

I use tumeric not saffron works out just fine.

slit the chicken breast and place a few slices of cheese inside then wrap the whole lot with a couple of slices of bacon and cook in the oven for 20 - 30 mins
