Visiting Melbourne with kids.

Hi. I'm going to Melbourne to visit family. During our time we will have 2-3 days to do what we like.
My kids are 7, 10, and 13. The only thing my eldest has said he really wants to see is the Eureka Skydeck.
Can anyone suggest any thing else I can do with them there. Would love to do or see something different that the kids would enjoy.

I'm restricted to Melbourne only. Can't travel out.

Thanks.

the zoo is really good. the open top bus tour shows you the sights and the ticket is good for 24 hours.

The crown casino , not to bet !! various restaurants, entertainment activities etc within the complex . located in the central business district (cbd) . Normally I would suggest the great ocean road , or Phillip island . but they are a long drive from the city , would easily take the whole of driving .

..and outside the crown casino complex after dark..on the hour....those that have seen will KNOW what I am about to suggest... :-]
There are these anonymous big black rectangle slabs, that on the hour have BIG gas fireballs coming out the top, can't remember how many there are, but they are synced, and light up the night sky, look phenomenal...and you can feel the heat!
(No doubt on utube, but fab in person)

Maybe not to everyone's taste but there's the rooftop cinema on Swanson Street.

Would love to have more time to see these. But no can do. Thanks anyway.

Cannot suggest anything except say you lucky basket

Cricket at the MCG is amazing if you like cricket or the neighbours tour !

The Aquarium is OK, the trams are good fun, get the City Circle, apart from the suggestions above cant think of much more. We stopped off for a few days on the way to see relatives. It rained for the whole 3 days we were there :-( But still good fun.

Hi. How different is the aquarium to the ones in U.K. ??

Did you do the Melbourne zoo at all?

Melbourne Zoo is worth a trip or Werribee Open Range Zoo is more of a safari experience. For more educational but interesting activities Scienceworks or Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) are also good
