    Mercedes service discount

I need to get my car serviced through Mercedes as I am on PCP and will need to keep the service history. Only issue is a service is over £450. Can get 3 years service for £1080 which works out better. There is a discount code box on their site but cannot find any discount codes anywhere.

Does anyone know of any current discount codes?

    Thanks

most likely be employee/family members discount. you 'll struggle to get it unless you know someone who work there

You can use any vat registered garage for your warranty to be honoured, does not need to Mercedes, hope this helps.

    Thanks both!!
Unfortunately with PCP if you are exchanging cars at the end of contract (which I probably will do) it's a requirement to service through them. If I were to buy the car by paying the balance then I could service through anyone. Downfall to PCP, they can fine you for not servicing through the dealer, so could cost me £1000 in charges at the end of contract.

Might just have to pay the service for 3 years as works out better, but even at £360 per service, it's pretty steep!!

You could go to a garage get a quote for a service, go back to Merc with the written quote and ask them to match it, always worked with me with Vw and Audi

Jesus, what car is it, C63/E63 or something? That's a phenominal service price!

Least it better than my quot from Audi which was £499

No, it's just a standard 2015 plate A Class, I was shocked when I called them as it's almost double Halfords online price. Halfords Major service is £255. I might see if they'll price match as suggested by Toon_army, but already informed them of online prices and they wouldn't discount.

Thanks, I'll have a look now

I service lease cars all the time. Genuine parts arent even required only approved parts but i always advise customers to use genuine in the warranty period. Who told you that youve got to put it into merc?

It was Mercedes, but that's why I've been looking online as that's what they'll always say. It's on PCP finance, so not lease, they claim that if I were to exchange my car when my finance agreement ends, I would need a full dealer service history from them. The other option would be to pay the balance and keep/resell the car when my finance agreement ends.

You would need to check your contract but im pretty sure thats not true. You should be able to hve it done anywhere using approved parts but id reccomend using genuine parts to keep it right. Is it first service?

Not strictly true with pcp. It won't void the warranty but when Mercedes take the car back, they can only sell it as approved used if it has dealer service history. This would change the agreed final valuation in the contract.

It will be its first Major service as I think that's a requirement every couple of years. I bought it at 10,000 miles so was approve used, so was serviced at 10k. It may be as Andyb has mentioned, that they can only sell as approved used with dealer service history which is why this is a requirement. By not have dealer service history in full, it would devalue the car for them. I will have a look through the contract now and see what it says.

Yes difinitley worth looking at the contract im not sure about pcp but i know if you buy or lease a car using approved parts is enough to keep the warranty intact as longs the sevice schedule is followed.

Get comparison quotes from at least 2 other Mercedes dealers. The likelihood is you may be able to get a cheaper price and then a price match from the Mercedes dealer you would like to use.

I know is only a Hyundai I have, but they are more than happy to discount if they think you will go elsewhere.
