Do you recommend these for 4-5 year olds?

Work it out, how many times are you going to go to each place in the next year (roughly) and see,
and then think if you can make the investment or not
We had a family pass when our daughter was that age. It was a Godsend for us, we crammed in as many term-time trips as we could so had pretty much walk on rides everywhere!
Still have one but it can only be used in school hols & weekends now which isn't quite as much fun with the queues but still a good day out for us.
I've had a Merlin annual pass for the last couple of year since my boy turned 5, and I can absolutely recommend it. His favourite destination is Legoland, which is just about an hour away for us. Chessington and Thorpe Park are about 45 mins away and they are pretty good as well. Plus all the London attractions that you can practically walk in. I've also used them at Warwick Castle and Alton Towers on a week long holiday break.

There is no doubt that they are excellent value for money, especially if there are multiple attractions close to where you live.
