    Mexican Pesos

    Hi all

I've just come back from Mexico and have 14800 Mexican Pesos left over.

Cut a long story short I bought £707 pounds worth online before I went but they didn't arrive in time so I had to spend another £700 on the day we flew for spends.

I've tried looking online for buy back fees to which I will be making a £70 loss on (best offer).

I was wondering if anyone could suggest any other ideas to try and claim as much back as possible.

    Thanks in advance

Did whoever you bought them from originally guarantee delivery before you left? If so, perhaps they'll offer a refund? If not, and this is very geographically dependent, I always used to use the currency exchanges dotted around the Victoria station vicinity in London - for some reason back then (about 7-8 years ago) they were consistently better rates than anything I could get online...

As soon as I placed the order a I noticed the delivery date was the day we flew out. I contacted them exactly a minute after the order was placed to see if they could cancel it but they were charging a £70 admin fee.

Wasn't happy to say the least

Im going in 8 weeks I might be able to buy them off you ??

Surely MSE showed how much it would cost you to buy 14800 and not how much you'd get for selling them. At the moment, Thomas Exchange would charge someone £693) for 14800mxp ( thomasexchange.co.uk ), and Best Exchange charge £690 ( bestforeignexchange.com ). These are the companies I normally use (ICE are also quite good at times)

Yes they did show me how much it costs to buy them. As I stated earlier I didn't receive these on time so I had to purchase more elsewhere.

Im just looking for some ideas to try and obtain as much as the £707 as possible

Thats why I put the Thomas Exchange & Best Exchange links. A lot of people wanting foreign currency would use these companies - as they generally offer the best rates. It would be advisable to offer the Pesos for around the same as them (or slightly cheaper).
