Hi everyone,
Im currently with T Mobile and have a HTC hero (G2) on an 18 month contract which includes texts, minutes and data.
I am due to receive a sim free Iphone 4 next week and need a Micro Sim to go into it, Will T Mobile provide me with one of these for free if i popped instore and asked or are they likely to put up some resistance (and try to make me sign up to one of their Iphone tarriffs) ?
Anyone been in this situation with T Mobile ???

I just bought myself a micro sim cutter off ebay, a noosy one, it's fantastic and sorted out my father's sim with no problems.
You just pop the standard sim in the cutter, press down like a hole punch, and out pops the micro sim.

Just chop your existing one down. If you want to put it back in your HTC just use an adapter from ebay.

i might consider chopping it down but dont feel that confident that id get it right.. lol.
sickly sweet - if the worst comes to the worst and T Mobile wont give me a micro sim would you consider lending me your cutter? would cover postage.

If you go into a T-Mobile store and ask for a micro sim (remember not to have it activated) then when you get the new phone stick the sim into iPhone4 and go to the t-mobile site and put in the code you get with the sim and it will work within mins .

The sim will cost a tenner (about the same price as a cutter)

i just got a pair a scissors and cut my sim down. Was even a little smaller than it should of been , but it still works ...lol the phone companys want to charge you and extra £5 a month just for having a smaller sim and an iphone 4.......what a liberty...

Yep, you could borrow it but after postage each way it might be cheaper for you to buy one.
Or send me the sim and I'd cut it in the cutter and send it back within 24 hours for you if you don't need it for a few days.
I went for a Noosy branded one, I wanted to get a good one, didn't want to risk ruining my sim.

i'm with orange and just rang them , said i just bought a sim free iphone 4 , they sent me a micro sim foc

If you want to borrow it let me know, I'll weigh it for you if you like so you know what postage would be, but try getting one for free from tmobile first, you might be lucky.

Same for me and vodafone. £2.50 delivery though

I just rang tmobile and asked for one, they told me it would cost £10, so I refused to pay it, wouldnt budge on it and got it free. Recently had to get a replacement, again at a charge of £10, I refused again on the grounds that no other provider charges, etc etc, and got it free again despite being told that the first time was a goodwill gesture and they wouldnt do it again.

Just ring them, ask and stand your ground, worst they can say is no, but with a little bit of firmness they wont say no.
