Tried installing this but no joy, its not even that old of a device

Tried getting the inf file to manually update the driver but that didn't work for me?

The drivers were part of windows 7 Youd think they would work on 10 but no joy!

Any help?

Isn't it class compliant?

Any suitable ubuntu drivers, if so load and run it from a partition on harddrive...?

It says it is but not supported for windows 10

Makes no sense. If it's USB class compliant surely all the midi information will be sent and can be received by your daw?

I'm sure on my old PC it worked as that had windows 8 on it and I upgraded that to windows 10 so it must have kept some of the files? But on my laptop it came with windows 10 installed so it just says it cant find a suitable driver

Which software are you wanting to use it with?

Install the windows 7 driver. m-audio.com/sup…rch but on install set it to compatibility mode. Most win 7 drivers work fine in 10 if set to compatibility.
If still not working after restart find a auto driver update programming(there was one on here for free) and see if it can find new driver

Call m-audio, they helped me when I had problems with my xponent

just ableton lite

Download win 7 driver.put on desktop then right click file and go properties. On the tabs should be compatibility.also make sure run as administrator.
Once this is done if still not working restart then plug keyboard into a different USB socket.it should find the driver you just installed

thanks I'll give it a go when I get back in tonight, it's just an exe file the one I downloaded though, think I read somewhere else you need to extract the inf bit from it ?

Not sure if you have to do that. The inf would be have to be manually installed but would cause problems as it would not be set to compatibility mode. As long as executive installs to windows and not just extract the files..

I had a similar issue with my Edirol PCR-800, which I resolved by editing the driver inf file and changing all references from Win6.1 (Windows to Win10, and running the driver software install in compatibility mode. Maybe you could do the same, or do you have to at all? M-Audio do list a Win10 driver for the device at driverscape.com/dow…-25

Any Win8 drivers available....they often work with Win10

Tried this but getting a 'The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems' message

I cant see anything in the inf that needs changing t o windows 10 ?

Get a MacBook Pro? They just work hehe. Where abouts are you in the country? If you're local I can try and sort it. Spent mot my adult life dealing with Audio Workstations and DAWs.

it sounds like driver is installing fine but something is not working with keyboard
i have read you may need to reset keyboard.
then try different usb port
have you tried the link to drivers above?
i would not mess with inf unless you know what your doing

for manually installing driver
1. Go to Control Panel and open Device Manager.

2. Find the device that your are trying to install a driver

3. Right click the device and select properties.

4. Select Driver tab, then click the Update Driver button.

5. Choose Browse my computer for driver software.

6. Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

7. Browse for the .inf driver file. Open and Next.

8. The driver will be installed.

this may not work as your keyboard does not show up under device manager with an exclamation mark
hope it works but im out of ideas.
if all else fails you will have to contact their support

yeah that's exactly what I was doing !

just tried the forum and they just said it wasn't supported for Windows 10

The only other way would be to make Vurtual Machine with windows 7 on it.
There are many tutorials on how to do this with windows 10
Not the best solution to your problem but would work.
