Millions of Groupon users at risk of losing hundreds, if not thousands of pounds!

Earlier this month a few members of Groupon started reporting unapproved activity on their accounts. Apparently hundreds of pounds have gone missing too! In fact there are reports that members have been out of pocket by upto £1000. It's not overly clear how the hackers obtained these details and Groupon state that there has not been a security breach on their Website or mobile app.

You'll want to check your accounts and update passwords ect... Also check your bank to make sure that you're safe.

most likely linked to the yahoo hack (and others)... people using the same password for multiple sites.

What are passwords ect?

how would it work if your groupon is linked to Facebook?
does that mean change your Facebook password?

Groupon doesn't store payment details. How can you be out of pocket?

I was wondering that !
maybe it is Groupon credits ?

I'd love to know where people dig this up ? Groupon has not been hacked and there are certainly no databases for sale on the dark web that I have seen. This will be linked to yahoo hack with people trying passwords on multiple sites.
By all means, even i recommend you change your passwords now and again and try to keep them different on each site. Pain in the ass I know, but it stops idiots. Just look at Stratfor who Lulzsec ended because of the same passwords used across sites.

Always try to use lower, upper, numbers and characters to make your password impossible to crack.

[email protected] is a prime example of how it should be done.

I bought something on there and got charged twice. Some of the goods are of inferior quality, damaged or not fit for their intended purpose. I will be very careful about purchases in future.

It must be true, I read it on the internet

It must be true - hotukdeals just whatspped me the information!

Groupon does have your payment details if you've set up an account with them. I just bought something today and my details were stored.

Watch out! There's a thief about.

Groupon cleared me out of over £1000, took a few days to sort out, no apologies, awful customer services, would never use again

This is true - I was contacted by Barclaycard a few days ago to say fraudulent activity has been detected re purchases on Groupon. I have been unable to access my Groupon a/c as my passwords have been changed so I'm not sure what has gone on, but so far my accounts are not showing any purchases. Barclaycard have been great, but Groupon have been useless and despite phone calls and emails to them, I've not been able to access the a/c to close it.

Give it time no one admits instantly to being hacked and if you're really good your hack won't be detectable, if its even a hack there are otherways such as employees selling data.
