There are some attractive deals for electronic goods on the mimotek website and on their About Us page, under a header "Trust Pilot Reviews" are two glowing posts from satisfied customers. Directly under these is a Positive Reviews counter, in red, that displays an upwards counting tally which settles at a reassuring 99%. Perhaps not unreasonable then for someone browsing the site to make the assumption that these same 99% positive reviews are indeed on Trust Pilot. In reality, as of today, navigating to Trust Pilot itself reveals the rating for this company to be a lowly 2 stars and not only that, someone has been extremely vigilant in flagging the vast majority of negative comments as being unfair. These are then greyed out pending adjudication. A negative review can suffer this fate within an hour of being posted.
It is straight forward to register on the site, create a password, log in and make a purchase. Sadly, in my experience, after a purchase any further attempt at logging in let's say for example for the purpose of applying for a refund, is denied citing "incorrect password". Resetting a password produces the same result over and over. Calling the phone number displayed elicits a recorded message stating that, due to coronavirus and staffing shortages calls cannot be taken...submit a Ticket or email. Unfortunately Tickets can only be completed once logged in... and are not accepted if emailed. It would be nice to think that the same person diligently flagging negative reviews might be reassigned to answering telephone calls, but that would be madness!
Have others found dealing with this company or one of it's sister sites problematic because there's always the possibility that mine has been a unique experience.
