If we are talking about the 'old' minecraft then the goal of the game is to defeat the ender dragon, but you don't have to and can just play for whatever goal you wish to play, up to you. Lot's of people just tend to get creative with it and build what they wish to build. For the new Minecraft, it's something like Pokemon Go, you will see different things/objects on your phone camera when pointing a specific thing like tree/house or something.
I've never played 'old' Minecraft! Haha. What is Minecraft essentially? Is it like a 3D version of Terraria? That was strangely addictive. Is there an actual "goal" to Minecraft?
Thank you PowerDaniel. I always wondered what the actual 'point' to MC was, other than building stuff of course! I did enjoy "Terraria" on Xbox as a diversion from all the usual 'shooters' but never looked at MC as it looked kind of like a 'children's' game. No disrespect to any MC'ers intended. Same could be said for Terraria...
