Missing MOT history when buying a car.

Looking at buying another car and seen one that we like. Everything looks good but checking the free GOV MOT checker, the only MOT's showing are from Feb this year and it has just had another one done this month(I assume just to give it a full 12 month for peace of mind) Should I be wary?

how old is the car??

It's on a 52 plate, 76k, 11 service stamps, timing chain replaced etc.
Assuming it has a current MOT, I can't imagine there's anything to worry about.

Cheers Stuart, may contact seller and ask if he has any idea why.
Was it on a private registration plate?

I believe it may be a reason.

Thanks a lot, the car has now been sold.

Nothing to do with private plate. But could have been exported and imported or crashed and repaired a few years later
could have been on a private number plate, ideally look at older mot certificates.
