Hi I was wondering if anyone has used 3 network they seem to have great deals but I am unsure about the coverage. I live in the northeast. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks

Grab a PAYG sim to test coverage, there's not really much else you can do other than that. Will certainly save you a few quid if it's not great.

Been with Three for 3 years now and not really had any issues regarding signal.

    Good idea. Thanks

just cancelled mine after 2 years. its good when its all working but i found i often had poor reception when others had a perfect signal. mainly inside....restaurants shopping centres etc couldn't deal with it anymore. gone over to ee 19.99 a month simo think it was 12 gb of data free euro calls unlimited calls. im in London doesn't help you up north but wanted you to be aware of problems i had. get a free sim and test it well before signing up for a year or two

Thanks I was looking at their monthly contract with iPhone and it is so much cheaper than others. But I think a sim maybe the way to go I don't want to be stuck in a 2year contract.

Tbh 3 have got better and better for me around the south east on the UK.

I live in Glasgow and for the most part 3 is OK but there's times where I have felt annoyed which I have poor reception . I have since then changed to Vodafone and its been great don't think I have ever lost signal unless it's been a slight hiccup which airplane mode /reboot of the phone won't fix which has only happened on a couple of occasions

I've got o2 now (work phone) did have 3 before this and 3 were by far the best coverage of the two (had t mobile before these and 3 was better than them too)

3g speeds were very fast (between 10 and 15mbs from my experience) not sure how much faster 4g was as it was quite new back then. If I was to pay for my own phone again it would be with 3 (I'm not on commission btw lol)

You could have a look at their coverage map online with postcode. If you have broadband but phone coverage is poor you can use their app to give signal through broadband. U can take calls and recieve texts when u have no phone reception but its done over your broadband connection.

I got a contract with them last month and had to cancel it soon as I got it. There site said I would get 4g, I managed to get H not even H+ and only 1 bar.
I spoke to them and they said I live in a deadzone! Yet there site stated different.
I'm in South Shields... I've ended up back with GiffGaff

Currently on Unlimited data with 30gb for tethering, unlimited texts and 200 minutes £13.50 1st 6 months then £23 12 month contract hardly get 4g (think it might be handset) and went threw quidco for £50 cashaback using samsung s6 edge.

Previous to this i had unlimited everything £43 4g most of the time using a htc one m8 im in southwest.

Not sure if its three or the phone but quite often (dont use text much) texts can take ages to arrive and send.

Poor reception inside a lot of buildings except if they have thin walls and very few pillars.
It also depends on how far you are away from one of their mobile masts of course?
I have poor reception on EE and 3 - seem to live at the furthest point from an EE or 3 mast according to an online map.

Just cancelled mine and then wife's for the exact same reason and in London too, also gone with the EE sim only

I live in Scarborough and often go up to Newcastle as that's where I am from and the signal is brilliant
