MOBILE PHONE HELP PLEASE

Been looking at this phone for daughter amazon.co.uk/Sam…2T9

To unlock the phone in order to use a Tesco mobile sim, is it simply a case of buying a code on Ebay or using one on a free website? Is it easy to do once I have a code?

I've never unlocked a mobile and I'm just not sure what to do. Also, can any mobile be unlocked or would I have to google each one to make sure, before buying?

Thanks.

You can either get the service provider to unlock it, or you can buy a unlock code on eBay, they will ask you to send them your ime number and from that they will get a unlock code. Hope this helps.

Why dont you just buy a phone from Carphonewarehouse which will be unlocked anyway? Does it have to be that handset?

Thanks for replies. Will look at Carphone Warehouse. Yes, that is the handset she likes (or ones that are similar to that) - she wants a qwerty keyboard and the fact that it's pink makes it even more desirable!!

Thanks nessynoo, we had a bit of a palaver with that phone earlier this week! We bought one on Tuesday evening. It is an absolutely gorgeous phone, nice big screen, the pink is a lovely colour, in fact I could see myself using that phone. When we got home though and I was looking at it I realised that it doesn't have a qwerty keyboard. When composing a text you'd think that turning it on its side would bring up a qwerty, but it doesn't! To say she was disappointed is an understatement! Took it back the next day and Tesco were on the phone to Samsung asking about it and they confirmed it doesn't have qwerty.
Refund received.

Yes, the one I linked is a slide with qwerty. I assumed the one nessynoo referred to at Tesco was this one, which, ok, isn't a slide but it is the price she stated. Is that the one you meant, nessy?
