Mobile phone locked on Vodafone, could I use a Lebara sim?

I am hoping someone could help.

I have just recently purchased an IPhone 5 via one of the deals posted last week but it is locked to Vodafone.

Is there a way I can have this unlocked?

Could I use a Lebara SIM card straight away due to them using the Vodafone network?
