Mobile Phone Tariff Advice - Vodafone

    Hi Guys -
Im in contract with Vodafone and they have told me im locked in until 1st August 2017

Ive normally stuck to my tariff / price plan but last few months they say ive been using alot more data so my bills have jumped up from £35 a month to £58 and £57 a month

My basic plan is £35 a month and i get, 1000 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb of data

They have now added me unlimited minutes for calls and a further 2gb of data (now giving me 3gb data in total) for an additional £7 - essesentially i now get unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 3gb of data for £42 a month

I would just like to know is this a decent deal as my intention is to try and get the price down once im able to come out of my plan on the 1st August.??

You haven't said if you are on a SIM only deal, or did you get a phone included with you £35/month contract, which i presume you did, as otherwise you're on a terrible deal.
The phone you got will have a major factor into the price you're currently paying.
I'm assuming you took out a 2 year deal with them, starting Aug 15, and got a phone included for that.
    What was the phone?
So it will depend on that.

However saying that, i'm sure you'll get a better deal in August, but that will depend on if you want a contract that includes a phone, will it be the latest high spec phone, or are you happy to go SIM only.

I am with Vodafone on a SIM only deal, paying £19.20/mth over 12 months and get unlimited minutes and text, 12gb data, and then also unlimited minutes and texts and 4Gb of data when roaming in Europe.
On top of that i get a free 12 month subscription to Spotify Premium.

im with vodafone paying £21.60 2 year plan, s7 , unlimited minutes and texts inc roaming 6gb data. wifi calling.

Hi thanks for replying - yes you are correct i took the contract out in Aug 15 and the phone i got at the time was a new Iphone 6

The phone still works fine so im thinking on my next upgrade i might just go sim only to try and get cheap monthly payments.

That is the best bet if you are Voda happy, sim only 30 day or 12 month sim only. I assume data was the issue over the 1GB its £6.50 for 500MB or the 40p a minute calls over 1000 minutes.

Anyway come August research what other sim only deals are available from providers, and go in armed to Voda cancellations/retentions.

I am sim only with vodafone. I have unlimited texts and minutes plus 1gb data for £8.50. I avoid using fone data as it is so expensive.

Ask Vodafone for your legally calculated ETF. (VAT and the actual cost of your monthly allowance removed; essentially the RRP of your phone at time of sale, divided by the amount of months between now and contract end.)
You could likely save money buy cancelling your contract and getting the £18pm Three One Plan with unlimited data.
