More Ebay help

This is a new one for me. I sold an item on Ebay which sold to a new buyer with no feedback. i sent an email saying 'congratulations etc.' and details for payment. Heard nothing, sent a reminder, nothing, opened a dispute, nothing, closed the dispute and got my fees back etc. left negative feedback. 2 days later i've just received payment from the original buyer with no explination or anything, despite it being closed on Ebay. Have sent an email asking if they realise it's closed and are they still interested in it as i do still have it for sale to which i'm waiting a reply to. Where do i stand with this? I'm really baffled by this one :-(
(By the way, is paypal payment from a confimed buyer)
Any help or advice most appreciated

I'm no expert but wouldn't accepting it now technically violate the selling off ebay rule? (As they lose their cut which may or may not be a good thing).
Two options really:
A Refund him, relist, let him bid again if he wants it (or sell elsewhere)
or
B Send item, and hope he doesn't try opening a paypal dispute/ complain to ebay about it.

I personally would relist if you don't have an urgent need to sell the item or it sold for an outrageous amount the first time - new buyers can be a pain to deal with.

I agree, you have no idea what he will do once he gets the item i.e paypal dispute/ebay dispute and ebay may catch on to the selling off ebay rule if he complains

Yeah.. i guessed there'd be something a bit dodgy about it. It did sell quite well, but would rather just relist it i think than the chance of something coming of it. i hate the faff when this kinda thing happens.
Thanks for pointing out what problems could arise, cheers guys

I would block him as well if you are going to re-list it. It's very strange for someone to pay after so long.
Have you looked to see what else he has bought?

Last i checked they had won 1 thing 2 days after my auction closed. Think that was the only other thing although no other feedback has been left. I have already blocked them too, thanks
