    More info on Ebay refund process?

    Hi, I recently sold a Lego set on ebay. Everything was fine, I got the money and the buyer got the item. 3 days later they opened a case saying the product was damaged and in my description I send I would send bubble wrapped but I didn't. My mistake I know. So I accepted it could have been damaged in transit and agreed to give the buyer a full refund. I have been advised to give a full refund within 3 days of receiving the item. But I haven't received the item yet or had any contact since from the buyer. It has been 2 weeks since the inital pruchase took place and 11 days since the case was opened. I cannot see anywhere on the help section which advises how long I have to agree to this?

    Surely I must receive the item within a suitable timeframe? Does anyone know?

    I think i found the answer now:

    Buyers have a minimum of 14 calendar days from the day after the item is received to let you know they’d like to return the item for a refund. You can set a longer returns timeframe if you choose. Buyers then have an additional 14 calendar days from when they let you
    know they want to return the item, to actually return it, or provide proof of the return.

    I hope it gets resolved quickly for you.

    Don't refund unless your receive the item. Perhaps he just wanted his money back and to keep the legoe.

    As far as I know they HAVE to send it back via a proper tracked service, although it just says they have to provide proof of posting. I would message the buyer and query whether hey have sent it or if they still wish to cancel.

    I am betting that it turned up fine, but not bubble wrapped and they are trying to pull a fast one thinking you might just refund them and not ask for it to be returned, so now you have offered a refund if they return it they have thought better of it.

    (sorry if I sound so cynical but I gave up selling on eBay due to constant problems like this)

    But I would definetly contact them via the dispute and check whats happening (don't do it in PM as eBay can't see that)

    dont refund anything until item recieved ... contact ebay and explain to them u have offerd full refund once recieved x

    Ther chancing there arm trying to get a discount or refund, doubt you will hear fron them again.
