Morgan Computer tries to validate my address for my recent order ???

Found 15th Sep 2008
I ordered the HP MV2020 500GB Network Drive from Morgan Computer on Saturday night with my credit card. Today I got an email from them asking me for the proof of my address. I heard this the first time for something worth only £70. What is the point of doing this. I tried to find the original thread about this deal and cannot found it. Can anybody tell me what was going on? Should I fax them a utility bill.

Thanks

nobody knows?

I guess they can't validate your details for some reason, have you tried calling them? What instructions have they given you?

Doesn't matter if it's £1 or £70, they still don't want to send it somewhere that's not validated. Otherwise they could have that money taken back.

I paid it with my credit card, which I have used so many times for online shopping. They asked me to fax them a utiltiy bill to validate my address, which is the first time I have heard about.

Think I've had to do it once before, I think it's very rare. If it happens again it may be worth checking with your credit card company that they have the right spelling of the address etc.
