Morphy Richards steam generator iron not descaling

My Steam generator iron model 332014 has started to pour water out of the iron when trying to use it. The descale light has come on but it is not going through the auto self descale process. I am at a loss with how to resolve this. Contacted Morphy Richards but they didnt want to know, saying its a limescale issue that isnt covered under the warranty. Just wondered if anyone has dealt with similar issue and knew any way to resolve... thanks in advance!
