Movies in HD...but not to buy?

Just had a look on the Playstation Video Store, and you can rent the Elm Street movies in HD....however they haven't been released on blu-ray or in HD, and you can't buy them from the store in HD.

Any reason why? If you can physically rent them via download, why not make them available on blu-ray?

To help out the rental market.

In the old days you couldn't buy movies straight away, you could only rent them for x months first.

But there arn't any plans to release the elm street movies on blu-ray, this is what i don't really get.

Im sure they were featured in a deal in hd/bluray format?

    Not yet, there will be.

I ALWAYS prefer physical copies, they're then mine to backup or sell.
