    Moving House with SKY

Ok folks, we got sky installed about 6 months ago and were away to move at the end of this month, thing is we need to take the sky dish.
What ways can we use to get the sky dish moved to our new place without having to pay or have to take the dish down and install it myself.

I dont mind maybe paying about £20-25 for it to be moved but i think Sky charge way more than that i think?

any help would be fabulous folks :-D

If you keep your Sky membership then Sky will fit a dish free of charge at your new place if it doesn't already have a dish.

(It's part of their evil plan to keep customers:lol: )

Find out if the new place has a dish, & if not ring Sky & explain to them that you've moved & there's no dish at your new place.

I moved at the end of the summer and they tried to charge me £40 (and my new place didn't have a dish!). I asked to be put through to the cancellations department and hey presto two minutes later the £40 charge had been waived:thumbsup:

They used the excuse that I was a valued customer

Basically just threaten to cancel and they won't want to lose your custom so they will bend over backwards to keep you;-)

In which case, when you phone them, if they tell you that you have to pay to move house, just do a sob story - "I've just started with Sky & it's really good & I don't want to stop but I'm moving house & what with the cost of moving and all the costs that we didn't know about/didn't plan for we can't afford to pay the extra £40. I guess we'll have to tear up the contract, accept our losses, & go with the cable company instead as they said they'll set us up for free...".

It may be worth a try. Whatever you do, though, be polite & DON'T get angry with them. They'll be more inclined to help you if you're nice to them - if you start shouting at them they're allowed to put the phone down. (Just imagine if someone was asking you a favour - would you respond better if they shouted at you or asked you nicely?)

    Good luck!:)
