I've put this in 'home and garden's because it doesn't seem right to put it in 'entertainment.

Humour is subjective. My mum loves Mrs Brown's Boys, however I can take it or leave it.

Idea for your next thread - My neighbour likes cottage pie, but I think it's nasty!
Edited by: "RossD89" 23rd Aug 2016

what?! i'm obviously missing something then cuz i don't find it the least bit funny!

What? is this some sort of joke!! Beggorra!! get me a Guinness I think I'll need something stronger after that as well. Seriously is this a Bloated Broadcasting Corporation pole or one that reflects the general publics view?

Only Father Ted rivals Mrs Brown's Boys as the least funny comedy series of ANY century.

Sorry for the delay, got stuck in a 5 lap race on gta5.

I agree with what you say about humour (and cottage pie) but it's an old man dressing as an old woman saying 'feck' a lot. It's the worst of 70s end of pier humour and cannot possibly be considered funnier than Peep Show, Green Wing or the inbetweeners.
Just goes to show the kind of people who respond to polls in the rt.

I agree about Mr Brown's Boys though, it's such a shame really as it had the potential to be a really good sitcom...went too far though and just wasn't funny at all.

Awful, awful programme.

I've not even seen a third of those shows and i'm proud to say that. British comedy is nowhere near what it used to be, and as above I'm not including that trash Father Ted either.

Bottom
Fools and horses
The Royle family

There was even something strangely good about watching the league of gentlemen and I didn't even find it funny for the most part.

Vicar of dibley I could never understand the popularity with, thought that was utter tripe.

The poll is only any use if everyone who voted has watched every program. I'm surprised the IT crowd is up in 5th as I hardly know anyone who's watched it over the age of 30/35, whereas most people I know have at least watched a few episodes of the terrible Mrs Browns Boys.

MBB got between 9 and 11 million viewers in the later series', whereas the IT Crowd got about 2.5 million. Would be interesting to see if MBB got 4 times as many votes, or 10 times as many of the inbetweeners.

Any way, I refuse to get drawn in to a debate with someone who's mother loves Mrs Browns Boys. You're obviously from bad stock.

Where's Fawlty Towers, it appears to be missing from the list

I think a post on best comedy of the last decade would settle the score, I am sure HUKDers could come up with a better list.

Because its sooooo last century.....

Well it is a poll of 14000 on the Radio Times website so not very scientific to say the least

you can't argue with the viewing figures when did the pollsters ever get it wrong ?

only ever watched a few minutes of it just seemed truly awful
Miranda is OK and Father Ted one of the funniest things ever made imo

Friday Night Dinner - chnl 4 way better than any of that load of tripe.

From that list, I can see why Mrs Brown won

Black Books is a strong #1 contender though and IT Crowd follows after Mrs Brown, for me. The rest... Eww.
