    Mum's 60th Birthday...£200 to spend...Help!...

    Hi all

Got £200 to spend on my ma's 60th birthday prezzie. Can anyone give me inspiration (and possibly a nice bargain)...

To give you an idea of what she's like...

She's not an old 60 (if you know what I mean)

She like things like the Ritz, Orient Express, Theatre, Ballooning, Eating out, Murder Mystery, Spa's etc.

I can't find any good deals and its doing my head in!

Her birthday is in August (the 9th). Would probably prefer to arrange something for after this date (when the garden apes go back to school!)

    Get her a Wii!

I Am Going To Be 60 In November So I Do Know The Age. I Think I Would Like A Couple Of Days At A Hotel Or Especially At A Spa. Good Luck. Lucky Mum........

Both great suggestions. At the moment I reckon she would love a wii. I think the hotel/spa thing may be too expensive. Anyone seen any good deals?

Sort of depends on tons of things - like where you live, if there's a dad around to be catered for, transport availability and so on.
How about a day out in London including a tour of Buck Palace (don't you need to book well in advance?) and lunch somewhere medium posh - clearly £200 isn't enough for Ritz/Orient Express type stuff.

Live in South East London, Dad is around. They live opposite a train station (direct to Charing Cross). £200 is quite limited but looking for something quite nice.

So. if she hasn't already done the Buck Palace thing why not look into that - accompanied clearly by either dad or BETTER if its you. Oh, just thought, do Derry & Tom's still have their roof garden - lunch there, or something like that. Queen for the day theme is slightly awful but you get my drift!!
Long time since I was in London but, to be honest, any mum will tell you that whatever you come up with would be brilliant because it's you!!!

We took my mum for Tea at the Ritz last October; this was for 80th.

She had a memorable time and the price is reasonable; £32 for an adult.

We had an evening booking so we qualified for the Champagne tea; a free glass of Champers and soft drinks for the kids.

It is my Mum's 60th at the end of the Month, i was looking at dinner on the Orien express or a weekend in Prague but these were working out at over £500 a little out of my budget. Instead i have booked the Edinburgh Malmaison ]http//ww…ba/ for the two of us which includes Dinner and Breakfast. Including flights this works out a a little over £200.

This deal expires end of July but hopefully there will be somthing along the same lines!

The flights must be the best deal ever. Please post.

Flights with EasyJet £58 something each from Luton to Edinburgh. These flights are also for Bank holiday weekend so a bargain if i do say so myself!

£99 for the room and with flights for both my Mum and I works out £215 - Flights, accomodation, Dinner & Breakfast.

Nice one as you say at a BH w/e. Looks like you've come up with a good idea there.
