How can I end this nightmare? Everyday my waist/stomach area feels like a water bed. My skin never used to be so soft and floppy lol.

Haha, I couldn't stand that if my wife did it. I've been having problems doing the Number 2, sometimes I haven't gone to toilet for 10 days and then suddenly everything will come out in one go, and this repeats again.

Ladies are supposed to retain fat, men need something to hold on to lol.
are you sure its water? not gas?
are you bloated? if so, most chemists have over the counter med to help with that.

if you really think that it is water you need to get tested from the gp

your liver might be messed up. it may be ascites, which is fluid collecting in the peritoneal cavity, in worse cases fluid starts to move from the tummy area and starts collecting in the legs and all over. it is a sign of something that can be very very serious. get tested for liver function tests and hepatitis tests.

not trying to scare you but better be safe than sorry
One thing I don't get, haven't you ladies heard of locks?

I would if I was you.

If you don't agree with what the 1st doctor has said.

Good luck.
I've also noticed, by just eating one cereal bar in the morning, I feel like I'm going to explode. I feel so uncomfortable for the next 8 hours at least before I feel good enough to eat again.
If Dr said it's constipation have you changed your diet to include more fibre, eating prunes etc to push things through quicker, eating less eggs as eggs bung you up? Have you been given anything to drink to help get things moving? Are you stressed as stress can case IBS?
I would go back and see the Dr but if they said it was because you were bunged up and you haven't tried to do anything about it then give it a go before going back.
There is a difference between water retention and poop retention, do you feel bloated and is it uncomfortable? Does it ease after pooping?
Maybe even NHS direct could give you some advice, give them a call.

OP dont let anyone on here give you a "diagnosis" - cringing at the thought of it.

Go back and see your doctor - and let us know how u got on.

Try prune juice or maybe something to unbung you from the chemist, something like movicol, speak to the pharmacist about it, if they are worried they'll send you to the Dr and if not give you something to try at home.

I've made sure to keep a 500G bag of prunes handy with me at all times, I eat around 6-8 prunes a day. Well I suffer from social anxiety, but I do not feel stressed, but the doctor said sometimes you can be stressed even if you don't feel as if you were. To tell you the truth this stuff is doing my head in, I've been taking omeprazole for 2 months and I don't feel any different. Funny thing is when I push my belly in from any corner, you can hear like bubbles rising or popping, sometimes it sounds like my belly is burping lol, that is why I described it like a water bed. Yes it is very uncomfortable, I jog everyday to try to ease this problem, but it has not helped one bit.

i suffer with anxiety too and sometimes i feel fine yet doc says im not
infact on alot of occasions my haed makes me ill and gives me symptoms, prob doesnt make sense but doc tells me anxiety can bring on allsorts and every little pain ache is tuned into and then u worry about it and before u know it u are in a vicious circle.i think anxiety can bring on ibs

i find i cant talk infront of people i dont know, and when i do i feel like my mouth is moving like charlies cat lol
were you on lansoprazole before they gave you omeprazole? im guessing it is a low dose. and yes you MAY not feel any different but this med is very important and carry on taking it but tell the doc how you feel. as with most nhs gps they bug you off unless you go private. omeprazole is given for several reasons.. acid, hearthburn related issues and also stomach or duodenum ulcers. ulcers being not so nice as they name sounds. you need to ask why you are on it in the first place? were you on any antibiotics with the omeprazole? see another gp at the practise, ask to have liver function tests and hepatitis tests. if it is ascites, hopefully it is not, im surprised you werent sent for many blood tests already? you clearly need and quite rightly so another opinion from another doc
o forgot. most important thing. try avoid too much salt, which is not good at helping the kidneys get rid of water also eat vitamin tabs, you might be deficient in some vitamins minerals... and other nutrients especially if you have been dieting alot. this short fall in some nutrients can lead to the body retaining water. hopefully the next gp youl see will spend some more time with you and give a detailed diagnosis. most likely no but where you ever on any diuretics? spironolactone? furosemide? if not than most likely it is not anything serious. but still get some blood tests done to be on safe side.

I agree that seeing the doc won't do any harm but for the gurgly popping grumbles in your tummy (I know exactly what you mean) and constipation if you get some massage oil (or a Lush massage bar as they are mess-free and lovely) and take 15 minutes every day to relax and lie flat on your bed and give your whole tummy a good rub and massage, it will slowly start to get things moving, relax the muscles, relax your mind and is just nice.
When I am stressed I feel it in my stomach and it really helps, try it for 10 days as it's good for tummy and you as a whole taking some time to yourself and relaxing.
