    My car has been keyed!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon all, not had a great day as some idiot has keyed my car, dont really wanna go through the insurance unless totally necessary, are there any good products to use apart from t.cut (can feel the scratches with my nail so think they are too deep for that) Anyone have this happen to them? Are Chip Away any good? Any advice would be appreciated. pics in 1st post.

    Cheers, Jane x.

has it been keyed twice?! I'd be very annoyed as I'm sure you are! Guessing nobody saw?

Happened to me, it's horrible isn't it? Cost me £300 to have 2 panels resprayed.

JML Car Scratch Remover is pretty good. Like a lot of paste scratch removers out there, as long as the scratch isn't too deep it'll work. With your car being a light colour, hopefully it'll blend ok.

oh thats awful, hun. We had ours done too-old car-just makes you wonder why?

looks like t-cut may do it? i mean it should fill a small dent in the paint.

If it is deeper than the first colour (silver) then you'll probably have to fill it first. I did this with a scraped wheel-arch last week and it is hard to tell that the scrapes were there.

ill just go look see if its in my boot with all my other hoarded things

Happens for no reason at times.

Have to say drivers should always consider how they parking that they not blocking public paths.

I got moaned at other day by a driver trying pull out a parking space as I was walking in the car park area directly in front of their parked car. I would have been on the path behind them only someone in a huge car, his back end of the car was blocking part of the path and had a tow bar on end too, can't get past them with a pushchair. I wish drivers would park more forward in the car parking spaces, instead their cars blocking public paths.

I have seen people scrape their buggies or handbags past cars leaving marks like this. I think its terrible.
Hope Something works for it. I still have hand prints all over my car paint due to suspected sun lotion. Need to sort it out asap really

GRRRRRRRRRRR I hate people who do this!!! I had one all the way down one side and the worst thing is, it happened at work where most of the cars are brand new Porsches, Audis, Jaguars etc... all company cars that they don't have to pay to repair!! Yours looks as though it's malicious... ie not someone who has just done it as they've walked past - they've taken the time to do the other side! Pathetic!

happened to my car once so i put a camera infront of my place and i found the guy come back again a nmber of days later just randomly keying peoples car. This time i waited for him to come to my car and i went out the side of my house with a bat and chased him. After i got him to the ground (not saying how) i took him to his house and asked his parents to pay up..... then notified my neighbours and they went round.

Since then someoe crashed into my car and wrote it off

Had the a similar sized scratch on my car a while back, I polished it with some G3 rubbing compound (ebay item 380272040046) then some T-cut to finish it off. G3 is slightly more coarse than T-cut but if you aren't 100% try the T-cut first, don't forget to wax after to reseal the area you polished. Carplan (ebay item 130508889148) do some rubbing compound which is supposed to be the same same as G3 but whole a lot cheaper

    Fair play I guess.

I always thought my car doesn't get keyed (even if I polish it til its stupid looking) because in the average car park, there are at least about 871 focuses to choose from.

Hi Maia, i'm so gutted, i know it doesnt stop me from driving it but knowing someone did it just for kicks makes so angry. There are some fantastic people on this forum that go out of their way to help a stranger. Many thanks to you all xxx.

    Scumbags.

I've had 2 cars keyed. One I got repaired for about £120 by a local guy, the other time I just left it & part exchanged it.

It's worth looking at Esure for car insurance as vandalism is covered without losing your no claims (although you pay excess)

    Hope you get it sorted.

    Use "autosol"

It's a metal polish but works a treat for deep scratches, obviously don't go ape with it but it's done mine wonders, once ur done, go over the area with a tcut colour restorer or any normal car polish to re-protect it

    Is that anything like anusol?

autosol will sort those scratches.. available in any motor store, looks like a tube of toothpaste...

small swirls on the scratch, you'll sort it, then wipe off and go over with a normal paint polish after...

    good luck

he said its gone thru to the metal, pics only show them as surface scratches but they seem pretty deep when you put your nail in them.

I'll give chipsaway their dues only phoned them a 5.45pm and came to quote hr and half later. Gonna try the other suggestions before going with them first tho. x
