oh dear. Poor doggy. You do need to get her the meds from somewhere.

I treated ours by hiding the pills in a banana

what was your dog at the vets for in the first place?

To be fair. The dog could have caught it from a lot of places.

well i think the vets shouldnt of charged you that £50. they didnt vacc her with the nose spray? hope not as shes just had surgery. post op checks are normally free.
Try some manuka honey, depending on what size she is anything from a teaspoon to a desert spoon a couple of times a day. It will soothe her throat the same way it would soothe ours. You will not have any problems getting her to take it!

So long as she isn't too young (and by the fact that she's been spayed I'm guessing she isn't), then kennel cough is no different to a common cold and medication really won't make much of a difference. It shouldn't last more than a week to ten days, and you should avoid socialising her with or around other dogs while she has it (if you want to be a responsible pet owner and prevent other dogs from catching it - clearly someone hasn't been or your poor little pooch wouldn't be stuck with it!)

well at our vets we dont charge for post op checks or for stitches out. Hopefully you wont have to but it does depend on the vets practice you go to.

No, the stitches are part of the surgical cost.
My baby lab puppy is 9 weeks old and has caught kennel cough and I know it's from the vet from 4 days ago. I'm worried my 8yr old pit bull will catch since he was all over the floor there.. I feel so bad for my puppy. Horrible cough sounds like she's dying. Took her to emergency vet at 1am and has the meds but obviously cost so much more. If I have issues and take her back the regular vet, should they waive my dr visit if any of them go back for kennel cough? I already had the front staff bc they r so snooty to me everytime I walk in.

How can you 'prove' it was caught from the vet? You might think it but I wouldn't think you can prove it. Use you insurance anyway.
