Its funny cos he doesnt know what he's done wrong

phone your house insurance and ask them:whistling:

yes,,,,,,or you could just make shed loads more scratches and call it art

can i claim on my house insurance?

I don't know if anyone on here has your policy to hand. Have you called them?

Depends if you got accidental cover on your policy, you have to dig out your policy papers.

My daughter got jealous 1 day when we asked the other to do something like unplug something,so she decided to plug in the iron cos she had to use a elec socket, cos I say how they shoudn't touch them etc but the eldest is getting older and needs to be able to do this that and other.
In went iron, then I noticed there was a funny smell, and she left the iron base down on laminated floor, was all burnt, didn't bother to claim though on insurance.

omg, i just fell off my chair , the pain so bad i cant stop laughing, SORRY but i cant...................

i think every parent will go through this, both of ours have done this, claim on the insurance and keep the cash, cos you know that they will do it again

No, not every parent. My two children have never done anything like this and they never would. They don't stand or jump on the furniture, either.

Edjaned - best have a look at your policy and see what it covers.

If accidental damage is included in the policy, then yes.
You need to consider the excess, if there is any. My daughter forked the DFS leather sofa on the same day of delivery. DFS insurance said it is not covered as it is not product fault. The insurance guy came and inspected it and said that leather in the particular seat can be replaced and that will cost only a couple of hundred quid. We dropped the claim cos it was not worth due to the excess.

Your not having much luck with kids as late. One breaks your laptop (friends) and you state your children are as good as gold. Then you state one has killed your sofa, and your cars gone boom. As they say they come in threes, hopefully this will be your last upset.

mine 2 yr olddid the same thing today although its not scratched just badly drawn over, all came off with a bit
of CIF and a gentle scrubb, same thing to his legs and arms. lol

would they argue that its not an accident though and say he did it on purpose
im with more than just going to read what it covers

how old is the settee? surely over time these will blend in, biro will come off, did you take any extra warrantee out on suite, as this usually covers anything like this

Depends how old he is? I would say it's accidental though if a child did it,you just nipped to the toilet for 2mins and there he was digging at it like sand!
My daughter def was older enough to know better, but well jealousy got better of her,as I said didn't bother claiming, cos pushes up premiums for next time.

Extra warranties don't cover accidental damage, only product fault-ish damages. Thats what they said to us when we had the same situation.
