is it like a musty smell?

i tried everything cleaning mine..even running a bleach cycle.. what i found was the fabric conditioner draw was jammed of old conditioner.. had to take out that dispenser draw.. wash it out (ie use a spoon to scoop out hardened fabric conditioner!) and also clean the area where the drawer casme from!

also give the belt a good wipe... is it called the belt.. u know that rubber where the door shuts......get into the crevice and clean out the gunk!

nice job u get ahead of u! good luck

nope just a really bad mould smell

yup its the fabric conditioner that gets clogged that starts to smell...

it helps to clean out the drawer and turn the washing machine on with nothing in it...give it a washout itself..

    Hope this helps

thanks for the info I try this once my washing has finished

it is likley to be your wash pump or outlet pipe blocked by a small coin or solid object. The water is pumped out by a small propeller which can get jammed . locate the wash pump and outlet pipe by removing the panel or cap usually found behind a front panel at teh base of the washer. if you can see or feel a small prpeller check that it mores freely. the main pipe my be clear but the outlet is a smaller pipe @ 10cm diameter leading off it. get the old wire coat hanger out and give it a poke. otherwise use

I will wait til my washin has done and then try each step that people have told me, thanks guys for the help

The rubber door seal on mine very quickly gets gunky grey coloured stuff stuck in the creases of the rubber.

I end up cleaning this once a week a horrid job.

Never noticed it smelling though, but sometimes when you pull stuff out of the machine (usually if you have a hot cotton washi.e. towels) the gunk can come on the washing. Nightmare!!

Just lately have tried using Tesco tablets every other wash for limescale etc. to see if this will help, haven't noticed any change as yet.

I guess it would be the door seal you're refering to. Hope that helps.

DOOR SEAL! that makes more sense! haha

Top tip. I always leave the door slightly ajar. Apparently the seal lasts a lot longer too.

Basically a maintenance wash helps to clear all the **** and gunge out of the machine. certainly has worked for me, also keep the door open for a good while after a wash to let the water evaporate.

Thanks for this, I'm off to run a maintenance wash on mine right now! That gunk in the photo is like I have to remove weekly - but obviously it's not as bad as in the picture, but none the less the same stuff!

I have had this too a few times.

Remove the washing powder drawer and clean, and also clean the waste thingy at the bottom of the front (like a little door thing)

Run a very hot bleach wash, putting some bleach around the door seal too - just make sure you wipe it out properly after wash.

Then leave door ajar after every wash to prevent it happening again

Hi - I had the same problem with my washing machine, and used white vingegar on a hot wash and it totally cleared the smell
