or maybe ask one of the Portuguese shop guys in Camden ...

I really love their Peri chips. I hate that that grinder stuff in the picture (which sounds right) is a US product. I am in an area where I am not likely to just walk into a ethnic food shop and find a product.

You should come to birmingham then..

    Plenty 'ethnic' shops round here

    hehe

I would feel a bit silly asking for spices to put on my chips. I do like trying things but in my town the most exotic food is probably a Happy Meal.

well, tarby did ask for dry seasoning not the sauce. which i have seen in tesco shelves so not that difficult to get i should think ...

The stuff your after if im right is a rust colored fine spice that is on the peri peri chips........... if you go into morrisons they sell it and its called American chip spice, its in a white tub (bit like the tubs you get baking powders and cake toppings in ) it has blue and red pictures on of the statue of liberty

I finally got to Morrisons and looked everywhere for it. I asked a guy who asked another guy who asked another guy, they hadn't heard of it.

    is nandos good then?

its coming to belfast on 6th march

the nando sauce is fantastic love the extra hot sauce!!!!!

You can actually make the Peri Peri spice at home...

The spice actually consists of the following ingrediants:

Sweet paprika - (Can be bought form at Aldi)
Salt - (add to your taste)
Sugar - (add to your taste but ensure it is only a small amount, i recommend a pinch or two)

Next time you go to Nandos have a goosey at the peri peri fries a little closer.... you can see the all of the above ingrediants. The sugar is actually the secret ingrediant used to bring out the spicyness in the paprika.

I bought some about a month ago from Tesco, They definately have it, i also picked up the chilli cracker, its like a seasoning for your food instead of the sauce. Anyway, the actual peri chip sprinkle is now sold in tesco and its scrummy just make sure you buy some good chips to go with it.
