Hi, My daughter wants a PC for Christmas. I bought my youngest son a pc for his birthday 2nd hand off Gumtree and stuck 8gb of memory & a 512mb graphics in it from my old microserver. It works well for him but now my eldest Samantha is feeling a bit let down by her old laptop. I've no idea of budget but can't really afford to spend more than about £200 on her this year. I've trawled through Gumtree with no luck and was hoping for a bit of advice on here. The PC only needs to be capable of running Minecraft smoothly, Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Andrew

If you are looking for a PC build then it's possible to build a minecraft capable tower for this price but it would be impossible to get a monitor, keyboard, mouse in that budget
You'll be very hard pushed to find something new capable of playing minecraft to any kind of decent level for £200. Prices for computing have shot up. Second hand is still going to be your best bet. Try Facebook groups and some of the sale apps but of course becarful
For that budget you are not likely to get a "smooth" experience (with the constant updates minecraft churns out these days). You would have to spend at least £100 more to have a more worth while experience. I have seen some decent towers on the Facebook marketplace, but would be very wary.

£20 over budget but its brand …£20 over budget but its brand new:https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/acer-aspire-es-156inch-amd-e1-4gb-1tb-21999-argos-2835036

Not in speed terms. A second hand haswell system with an HD 4600 would be half the price and twice the performance gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…353

Thanks for the advice. I've spotted this today for £250

- Intel i5 4460 Quad Core 3.2 GHz Processor
- Nvidia GTX 950 Graphics Card
- 8GB RAM
- Windows 10 - restored to factory settings for your own setup.

I bought this new 1.5 years ago from PC Specialist, it was built by a professional. Runs really well, I just don't play games anymore to justify keeping it around.

Any questions please get in touch. It comes with the PC itself, power cable and DVI cable.

There is no mention of HD so I have emailed them for details, does it look like a OK buy?

Thanks

Should be OK. You'll need a monitor, mouse and keyboard if none is supplied
