Need a little advice re-building my CV

    Evening HUKD,

I'm rewriting my CV from scratch and have inputted the relevant information about my education and work experience, thrown in some skills, a little additional info and a dash of fancy boardering but need to fill out my "Interests". This seems simple enough but I'm getting a lot of conflicting messages about whether it should be a list or something more detailed (i.e. a list but with reasons why I like to travel, post trash on the Internet, etc.)

I understand no employer wants to see loads of tripe as they prob have dozens of CVs to get through, but is it worth expanding on what I say in the interests section?
e.g. Travelling - I enjoy to travel as it costs me next to nothing due to misprices and discount codes found online.

    I'm very rusty with this!

    Thanks !!

You frequently travel as you're interested by other cultures and expanding your knowledge!

There was me thinking I had been original

I think it sounds like, you're not going to be racist... and stuff... heh.... you're more interesting than sitting by a pool drinking beer!

I have kept mine brief, but hit a few of the core competencies, ie teamwork/motivation (sport etc) independence/planning & organising (travel) depends what job you're after I suppose................

little bit of advice, I write CV's for a living, please dont use fancy borders, keep it plain, simple and easy to read as a potential employer will only glance at it for bout 20 seconds before deciding whether or not to read it.

Just a couple of hobbies/interests is fine just to give you a bit of personality.

One more hint - if you expect it to be read by a man use white paper, if you expect it to be read by a woman se cream paper, dont ask me the logic behing this one but it works

    Good luck with the job

Although you are good at finding deals online, this is not a skill you want to brag about on a CV. The reason is because employers do not wish their employees spending work time surfing on the internet. Be careful listing anything that the employer may think would distract you from doing your work if they hire you.
