    Thanks

about £80-£100 i got the bathroom done and it was £14 per square meter but maybe a little more for yours as it wouldnt be as easy

Price will be over £100, Job should take 2 days depending on size of tile and how good your walls are, also cutting round sockets makes it slow.

No idea, in that case a days labour for 6 meter floor

loads of variables will affect the price, enough to make this thread pretty pointless, shape of tiled area, condition of surface, type of tiles etc etc.

    Half a day. Max.

The floor will need prepped and screeded to level. Say half a day to screed and half a day to tile tops.

But you will need to give the screed time to dry properly or your floor tiles will just become bossed.

How do you all know its the floor? Internet psychics?????

How do we know it's a floor?

DIY, there's something very satisfying about tiling.

    Whoops! It's not the floor!

I've been quoted £650 plus vat for labour including removal of old tiles and him supplying everything except tiles

    just go with paint, op.

Could you not tile over the tiles?

Removing the tiles and preparing the wall for the new tiles will be the expensive and time consuming parts of the bill

The old tiles need removing, been on for years and a tight fit around a cupboard etc

I suggested the floor as everyone presumed it was the wall

That sounds a crazy amount if you're providing everything.

Removing tiles is fun, if you did that it should knock it down a bit

Do it yourself, tilings **** easy.

Anyone know someone in Birmingham area?

do the prep yourself remove old tiles clean floor nice and flat
if you dont or cant lay the new tiles then pay about £25-£30 a square metre as no prep needed
do not ask for a quate just offer £25 up to £30 take about 3-4 hours for a good tiler if floor is good
    good luck

    It's wall tiles not floor

It can be worth getting a pro to do the tiling but any idiot can remove the old tiles and prep the surface, should cut the bill a bit.

go to ratedpeople.com and get a few tilers to give you a quote, then haggle a bit with the person you wish to go with, telling them the other 'cheaper' quotes you've received. £650+ vat seems a little steep.

The building trade is looking for work atm, you will get a far better deal if you haggle.

It would be one and a half days if it was 4" tiles, as the grouting would be done on the next day.

1 day max. Cost should be about £100 max. 6 sq.m is easy to remove and retile in a day. Pity I'm not in your area.

indeed. i recently finished our new kitchen about a month ago. This weekend ill be tiling the conplete bathroom (walls and floor) at my Dads house. I fully expect to have the work finished (grouting aside) in that timeframe, though it will be tight.

Do you wear a hat that says mug?

Unless there is something really odd, removing the tiles - 1 hour. Fixing new tiles 4 hours, grouting next day, 1 hour. materials £15

Is there any other jobs you need doing?
