    need advice

hi, right i need advice? i bought a game from cex online (second hand)
when it arrived it had no instruction booklet inside which i was a bit miffed
about but no big deal, the problem is that i always wipe down the games
that i buy from them and on doing so a small bag of cannabis fell out from
under the sleeve? i emailed them and told them that i was well mad at this
and wanted to know why drugs had been sent to my home and that anyone
of my four kids could have found this!!!
the email back said as follows:

    Dear xxxxxx
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
I would like to acknowledge we have received your email and are dealing with
    your complaint now.
We are treating this case very seriously
I have prompted a full investigation and will get back to you as soon
as it has been carried out.
    Kind Regards

the same as above and the reply was as follows:

    Dear xxxxxx,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
I'm sorry to hear that not only was your order incomplete, but that an offensive item is involved in this issue.
May I ask that you return the entire order to
    CeX Ltd

Please make it for the attention of the Customer Service Manager. Also, please include a copy of the receipt, and a contact number and address for yourself.

how much you selling the weed for?

i would suggest you ask for a number to speak to someone and say that unless something can be sorted informally that as they should check all games anyways they should have come across the controlled substance and should have been destroyed, and defintely not sent on to a customer.
if they are unable to sort out the situation to your liking then say you will take it to a solicitor.
Then do so, or take it to CAB as thats free and see where you stand on a legal ground, however i would believe you would stand on soem sort of negligence stand and sale of goods act maybe.
i would honestly push on this one, especially with kids in question.

let us know how it goes.

    regards

lol the game was only 8 quid, still, jokes aside, it just ****** me off
to think that my kids could have found it

Say that you bought the game as a present and, it being Christmas time, do not have the a) cash to buy a replacement b)time to send the game back c)time to replace the game before giving it to a family member. Say you expect an explanation and ask what they will do so it doesn't happen again.

no way that they could be held responsible imho so no chance of compo! Its getting more like the USA over here what with everyone wanting something for nothing. Just bin the weed and move on.

Isnt the explanation you were after obvious? Someone forgot to check the game contents properly. Mistakes happen, thats life, get over it.

May sound harsh, but CAB, solicitors, police involvement is ludicrous. Dont you think they have real people in need requiring help?

    What game was it?
