You could go to your nearest guitar store and ask for any old guitar packaging boxes?

Try interparcel, as a courier, I've used them and they are cheap and fast, you just enter size and weight, they will recommend cheapest courier

Acoustic or solid body? I have sold mine in the past with cases to avoid the grief but I think lots of bubble wrap and cardboard with huge fragile stickers all over it. I have always used Royal Mail and never had a problem but I just guess i am lucky

i put mine in the bag then wrapped some bubble wrap around it then paper and off to the post office, got there fine. oh and i slackened the strings too

It will be going in a gig bag , that came with the guitar. I dont know the specific weight of it though, and have no way of sizing it up. So i will put loads of cardboard and bubble wrap inside the bag, should i leave the bag unpackaged or put something over this too ?

    Its a solid body.

which ever courier you choose read the excluded items very carefully as i think musical instrucments usually arent covered for damage same as pc monitors breakables etc coz they are too easily damaged. parcel2go arent too bad you enter in details & they select best service. as for packaging ask at you local supermarket or shops as they are usually quite happy to get rid of cardboard boxes. did this when i moved got loads of boxes rather than having to pay for proper removal boxes.

Cover the bag as well the buyer will like that:thumbsup:

just have a little read of this list

    parcel2go.com/shi…spx

under special provisions guitars are only covered upto £100 and only if sent in hard case, if not in hard case you are not insured at all. so you can still post it but if anything happens you are on your own.

Its been about a year since I did this but for some thought i think it was the £ 20 mark I could be very wrong though!!!!

Make sure it's trackable on-line however you send it. You don't want to be faced with a Paypal claim for non-delivery.

there is no such serice. you can do standard parcels but you cant make that service recorded i dont think. and there is no signature on standard parcels. you would have to send special delivery which would cost a fortune.

Got it posted yesterday, took it too local guitar shop and he bubble wrapped it and placed it in a guitar cadrboard box for FREE!! saved me a few ££ on buying it myself (thanks windhoek- rep to come). Posted via parcelforve 48 for £12.50 so good deal all around.
