2 months ago I purchased the 1TB Iomega Prestige Desktop Hard Drive from Tesco, recently i had a small accident and spilled a glass of lemonade on my extension plugs, the drive wasnt connected at the time to the power adaptor. Anyway I changed the extension dried all the plugs out, everything works fine but the Hard Drive will no longer power up, i guess the adaptor has become faulty, ive tried another 12v power adapter but only the light appears on the hard drive but the hard drive does not power up as it used to make a little noise, like a fan running inside it and of course my pc wont pick up the drive. Tesco will give me a replacement or refund, sending it back to iomega i also risk losing all the data saved on it, opening it up i risk voiding the warranty. I need to recover all my data and im worried about losing it all. I also ordered a xbox elite recently and wanted to use this as an external drive to the xbox but i remember reading re that you can replace the hard drive in the xbox with another one, i dont know if this hard drive will fit inside the xbox if taken out of the casing..any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

You need to check the power output of the new power supply sometimes if you use a different one it will have enough power to spin the fan but not power up the HDD, Just check the figures on both power supplies IE: 12v 3.0 amp

It wont work on the 360 as a replacement drive.
Only as an external read only drive.

that explains why, i heard a spinning noise before which i dont even hear now? the adapter i initially used was less than 12v not sure about the amp, im hoping i havent blown something inside it. I also have an adapter with a 12v output but that again doesnt do anything apart from switch the light on, on the HDD.
