Need help with Renault Laguna (03 reg)

My dad's just rung and asked me to ask if anybody here can help.
Yesterday driving home from mine his car started running a bit sick, just about got him home. Starting it up today, it starts fine but won't rev?And wont move anywhere. The management light isn't on either.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks x

its a 1.9 diesel(dci) with 150 on the clock, had a new turbo fitted 4mths ago, last service about 3mnths ago

could be a prob with the engine management system - communicating to the engine from the pedal - it will be electronic rather than the old trusty throttle cable - could be just a loose wire - or an electronic fault - you will need to take it to a garage - electronic faults like this are very common with renaults

    Try unplugging the MAF

As Louise b said try unplugging air flow meter! have one of these cars myself and had the same problem.Once unplugged car will still drive ok but a bit less responsive.Cost to replace air flow meter around £150 !!!!

French car with problems, whatever next

An oldie, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Makes sure you have the radio code first though.

    Well what was it?

    Basic instructions
    y
Do not light candles, lanterns, fires,
and cookers or smoke while you
are wearing your oxygen. There is a
serious risk of fire or burns.
    y
Do not change the setting on your
    oxygen without talking to your
    doctor/nurse or member of the
Oxygen Team first. Turning the flow
rate up or down could put you in
    danger.
    y
Keep track of how much oxygen is
in the cylinder/tank (in case you are
not on an oxygen concentrator – a
machine that plugs into an electric
socket), and order in advance so
    you don’t run out.
    y
Do not drink alcohol or take drugs
that relax you, such as sleeping pills,
    sedatives or recreational drugs,
while using oxygen. They can cause
    you to breathe too slowly.
    y
Call your GP if you feel:
    - increasingly short of breath
    - restless or confused
    - have early morning headaches
    - very tired.
