Need help with this 1080p LCD TV

I'm looking for a new 42" LCD TV which is full hd (1080p) and came across this one from Argos, does anyone have this? or know if it's a good full hd tv? i've already got to other 42" (1080i) lcd tv's in the house but i'm getting really fed up with them not having a very good picture, thing's like when there is any fast movement on the screen they go blocky and even when i'm watching the football as well, so i don't want to go for another tv that's just going to do the same thing.

have you actually used any of your tv`s at high definition mode ? have you got a ps3 or blu ray player or a hd dvd player ?you tend to get blocky pictures due to a bad signal nothing to do with it being a hdtv have you got a skyhd box ?

How do you watch football? SD or HD feed ? anything over 37" , I would tend to go with a plasma myself

you will get no difference in picture quality between a 1080i or a 1080p.a 1080p has twice the frame rate than a 1080i so in reality you will only notice a difference with high speed movement on the screen but its unlikely you would even notice it watching a game of football.

thanks for the replys, i've got a ps3 and a hd dvd player and run both at 1080i but i find they aren't looking as good as they should be, no matter what settings i try on the tv, i watch the football games through sky, i know nothing about hd tv's but i know that the 1080p was the newer version over the 1080i but that about it.

Your TV is proberly has a resolution of 1366x768. The 1080p TV's have a resolution for 1920x1080. Which will make an improved differerence when hooked up to the PS3 and HD~DVD player.

if you are using hdmi connection from ps3 to a hdmi connection on tv then your picture should be perfect.you would need a skyhd box to get high definition on the football when its available in hd.if you have a blu-ray movie you should get a perfect picture on ps3.a 1080p just has a quicker frame rate 60 frames per second compared too 30 on a 1080i thats the only real difference.

wrong he has already told you he has 1080i and that has same resolution as 1080p the only difference there will be is the frames per second.

Have you tried running it at 720p? I have motion problems with my lcd tv on 1080i when viewing sport or using my ps3 so I change it to 720p and this helps.
