need pram suggestion for small car (corsa)

    Hi all

the wife is expecting in July and i've started looking for prams ideas - we really like the Mama & Papa's Pliko but discovered it was about 1-2 inches too long to comfortability fit into the boot of our corsa

can anyone offer some suggestions for a similar pram which might be compact enough?

Hi, i had the pliko when i had my lil one and it just fitted snuggly in the boot of are corsa, HTH

what about a first wheels city pushchair, I have this and the frame fold up pretty small as the handle tucks underneath, there is the carry cot bit you could try? its easy to reverse the carry cot so you can have babe facing you kiddicare.com/web…gle
comes in different colours, not on this website, but we have the black one

we were at M&P today and i couldn't get the thing in, the store assistant managed to semi-wedge it in but it took some force to unwedge it. I wouldn't want to do that everytime, did you figure out some knack to it?

Have you tried the Silvercross 3D yet, might be a little smaller.

going by the website it's about 2cm shorter - assuming rachel's method doesn't work for me it's definately one to follow up on

I've got similar sentiments on that pram I've seen a local ad for a 2nd hand Pliko (with car seat) for £50 - seems too good to pass without giving your method a try. I'll see if i get any joy this weekend (assuming it hasn't sold by then).

Definately a great price - i paid over 500.00 for mine with car seat. Go defo give it a try  but you need the handles in 1st

The M+P Aria folds to 82cm which should fit in any car. It's not narrow when folded though at just over 50cm. I had one of these for a while and it was pretty good, comfortable, manoeuvrable, light and stylish. There's a knack to folding them (it's not an umbrella fold type) but once you've got it it's a cinch.

M&S Primo Viaggio car seats are VERY upright mind....wouldn't use them personally for that reason so if you're wanting a travel system I'd look elsewhere. If you're not bothered about car seat fitting onto chassis then you may have more choice..

You're better going for a pram that folds in half rather than an umbrella/telescopic fold as they just keep the length.

Try something like the Mothercare My 4 chassis or Quinny Buzz - rear wheels are quick release on both if space is a little cramped in boot but should be okay as they are. Or the M&S Aria....

Just be careful buying second hand car seats...you can't be 100% sure of their history and any accident damage isn't always evident upon inspection.

thanks for all the suggestions everyone

we've tried squeezing the Pliko in using rachel's method but it just didn't work for us unless we put down one of the seats (maybe we have different versions of the corsa?)

we've also had a look at some of the suggestions here and a general shop around.. so far our favourite seems to be the ]Baby style Oyster - looks really well made (mostly metal not plastic), feels sturdy, folds tiny and fits into our car flat (after removing one of the quick release wheels) - colour range could be better though.

the best price i've seen (for the whole package, inc car seat, foot muff, cot) is £450 from bambinodirect + 5% cashback (so £427.50 overall) don't suppose anyone can find a cheaper supplier?

this may be of some help for you, good for town use but not all terrain:

we stumbled across it at an independant shop/warehouse - doesn't seem to be stocked at the major retailers. It seems to tick all the boxes for us, and doesn't come across as flimsy like most prams but as you say it probably isn't great on all terrain (but i doubt many of the larger wheeled ones would fit in our boot).

Alot of the larger wheeled prams, can have the wheels taken off with simple click.
Ebay have them for quite cheap ( babystyle oyster)

the ebay listings for the full package tend to be around £480 delivered

there are listings for £240-330 but these tend to only have the basic pram (or pram + cot) and not the full pram, cot, car seat, footmuff (AFAIK)
