Need some help on XBOX360 RROD

Guys if i have managed to do the X-clamp method and i still have the 3 red rings is it possible that it is only the solder that has broke where the clamps go??

Is this a simple job to do??

thx for any help! (sorry guys in a bit of a rush for the school run!).

I'm not sure I understand your question. but often after doing an x clamp fix, you have to overheat the xbox to get it working again. (something to do with warping the PCB).

Hi, What guide did you use?

It's not that simple. Messing about with heat can kill your xbox. The theory is that overheating (up to a point) will melt and rejoin the broken solder connections. The standard method is to stop the fans for exactly two minutes, no longer. Use nails or screwdrivers etc. BUT, don't even attempt to apply heat until you have fixed the RROD.

I've done two successful RROD repairs and in each case it was a question of getting the spacing between the mobo and case correct and - most importantly - getting the tension on the screws correct. Once you've got the mobo exactly level you just need to mess with the screws until you lose the red lights and then stop the fans for two minutes.

Hi, 2 minutes isn't long enough. It won't get hot enough in that time. You need to keep the fan connected and position it over the cpu because if the cpu gets too hot it will turn the console off. Then you need to leave it for at least 30 to 45 minutes.

    This is a good guide - ]http//ww…htm
