NEED SOUND ADVICE

Recently got rid of old music system from lounge. Got a 8gb IPod Nano for Xmas and I can now actually use it !

So, was thinking of getting speakers which can take IPod and provide good quality sound in lounge from the IPod

Was looking at one of these on Amazon, looks a good deal but just thought I would ask here what people know about these. Seem very similar to the Bose range whch I was tempted by but seen far too expensive.

I would like a good sound but, mainly classical music but I am not a purist when it comes to these things

OK sounds good enough for me.

Wireless version would be really nice but another £80 so will settle for this. Wire will be hidden anyway

Thanks

The Klipsch has extremely good sound. I have the same setup as you, I bought an 8Gb Nano a few weeks ago and was looking for a speaker dock.

I bought the Kipsch iGroove (not the SXT) but you need to be aware that this won't charge your iPod for you. Apple changed the protocol for recharging while docked (they must have taken leave of their senses in my opinion) and the latest generation of Nano and Touch will not comply. They play OK but you'll have to resort to mains or USB charging to keep them alive.

That's the reason that these speaker docks are going so cheaply. I decided to buy one because I was keen on the good sound quality .. I can always recharge my Nano on my PC because I never turn my PC off.

Thanks. The info was very confusing on the website but not bothered, normally charge on laptop anyway as really getting into dowloading loads (my kids are amazed).

Just out of interest, how much was your speaker set up?
