there are many ways to do this but can be quite tricky but most of these can be got around by useing the right proxy or if system controls arnt disabled for that user they can easily turn off ure changes or system reboot to a time when you did not have this software so consider to your self is it really worth it just for something so small

It's for the kids, so they won't know anything like that. Cheers for the reply

Open up Internet Explorer, then Tools, Internet options, Security, go along the icons until you see Restricted Sites, click Sites, then you have to type in the address of each site.

If you use Firefox then do the same in that too.

How about restricting it from your router using its inbuilt firewall?

you'll be surprised ;-)

You can block access by modifying the Windows hosts file. Although this is quite a crude method since the hosts file can be remodified by somebody who knows about it. However, a way around the issue is to log in as an administrator and set the hosts file to be read access and give your children non-administrator accounts.

The way the hosts file works is to redirect IP addresses to another address. For example you can redirect www. bebo.com to localhost by obtaining the IP address of www.bebo.com (use ping www.bebo.com inside a command prompt) and then specifying that www.bebo.com is redirected to your localhost (or you can redirect it to www.bbc.co.uk or any other IP address).

Windows Vista has parental control systems built in, which you can add websites too, as well as automatically blocking all the "naughty" stuff.

To block MSN Messenger, you need to prevent traffic communication between your client PC and the MSN Messenger servers. To obtain the IP addresses of the servers go to the Command Prompt and perform NSLOOKUP command on login.live.com . This will give you several IP addresses which can be added to your blocking rules (in your firewall). I believe this applies to both the web application and the standalone executable of MSN Messenger.

its the summer and in this weather they cant go out so let them comnitcate with freinds just take away there webcam and tell them you will check there histroy and conversations
