    Need Vet Help.

Asking help because of the rabbit again and we need to know wether or not to take him to the vets.

My brother dropped him from about half a metre from the ground after he scrambled whilst in his arms. He fell on his side and now the OTHER paw (so not the paw on the side he fell on) he now has problems with, when he is sitting he either lifts it up like a limp or he will put that paw further back towards his body much behind his other front paw.

Sorry I tried to explain as best as I can, if you dont understand just please ask questions because I can respond better to questions.

Thanks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It would probably be worth taking him to the vets to get him checked out tbh.

If you need vet help, then take him to a vet...sounds like the rabbit needs attention! Look up local vets online or in the yellow pages...geez.

We were going to take him but the vet isn't open today!

but if there are many people who say it sounds like nothing serious because he is running around on it like normal and it doesn't look like it is causing him any pain or distress at all it just when he sits he lifts his paw we can tell everything isn't 100% so we wanted confirmation.

If you gently squeeze his leg from top to bottom, does he pull away or show any signs of discomfort?

Try running your fingers along the bones very gently and watch for any reactions. If he does pull away take him vets.

    ehh,what's up,doc?

if any animal is showing signs of unusual movement, especially after a fall, they should be seen to, just to be safe.

Consider the options, be cautious and take him to the vets only to find theres nothing wrong, vs don't take him to the vets and find theres something badly wrong.

if their is not a vets open near you, what about taking the rabbit to the RSPCA, they will help you by having a look at him. or you could try the PDSA. Worth a try at any cost.

Take the bunny to the vets,I think he is hurt, hopefully it's just a sprain or a bit of ache from the fall.
If he gonna struggle don't go picking him up and carrying him about anymore.

Im sure pets at home have inhouse vets, might be worth popping into your local one to see? fees are quite reasonable too, if they even bother to charge you.

Thanks H_K. Me personally, i want to take him to the vets but my dad says that because he is running about and eating that he is fine but like most dads he always thinks he's right and the kids are never right and when he has an opinion his opinion is right and noone elses matters :x

Like I said before he is running around normally, not limping at all. He is eating fine and acting like his normal self. It's just he lifts his paw up when sitting occasionally.

My partner just saying about how rabbits hide their injuries,I think you should take him in.

    Hi everyone who cares lol:

I tried chipsticks technique and he seem fine with it. I don't think you really undertand how bad it is really, it actually isnt as bad as i made it sound. I am really concerned by the slightest thing with rabbits due to the death of my other one so I am really protective.

His leg does not seem to cause him any discomfort whatsoever he is running around exactly the the same as he normally does and you wouldn't realise anythinng was wrong with him just until he sits down and lifts his paw up occasionally right now i'm watching him and he is cleaning himself and he is cleaning every part of his body with ease and you know when they kick their feet out before they clean their face? He is doing that as normal and then cleaning his face with both paws as per normal. I am really sorry that I made it sound more serious than it actually was, but if he is still lifting his paw up by the end of the weekend (it doesnt even look like he's doing it now actually) then I think we will pop into the vets. We don't think it's going to kill him because he's still eating and it's not causing him pain. Sorry for inconvience :-D

I know where you are coming from about the other thread BUT:

I haven't ignored advice, i have tried chipsticks method and looked at the link that Mum2C+C put on and read all posts and replied to them.

And last time it was as bad as it seemed, he wasnt eating at all and wan't being sociable and that wasn't like him so I wasnt overreacting, he jsut took a turn for the better in that case.

Fair enough,if it was me I'd been today, hope it sort itself out,if not go Monday!
