    Netbook advice/deal info request

    Hi team!

I am wanting to get a netbook, as you all know there are many around.

Ideally I would like a 250gb HDD and the OS to be Windows XP, Windows 7 starter seems way too restricted.

Does anybody have any ideas or comments of where I can get one from?

The Samsung N140 is available in a 160gb XP version or a 250gb windows 7 version. Would I be able to get the win7 version and then just install XP on it? I assume the drivers(xp) for the 160gb version would work on the 250gb w7 version?

    Thanks in advance....

My missus has just bought a Samsung NC10 from Argos for £250, nearer £300 elsewhere. She seems happy with it. Only a 160Gb hard drive though.

    Really good reviews... trustedreviews.com/lap…/p1

They also have the older version for £230 although I don't think it's a 6 cell battery.

i got a netbook from laptops Direct. check with them if you are keen to get Acer

[FONT=Verdana]I think the key thing is what is the budget that you have available for purchasing a netbook - in addition to that what do you really need it to do, as various netbook deals on the go have three or six cell batteries present within them.

With regards to netbooks running with Windows 7, they will come bundled with the Starter Edition which does have a number of restrictions on it that Windows XP Home Edition wouldn't have - you can however upgrade to Windows 7 Home Edition via an upgrade license key, which you can purchase online.
