Never buy B&Q paint cause it's useless!!!

I'm so fed up, bought paint to do up our 16mth old sons bedroom did the whole room blue and then added green on the bottom half ready for his Thomas the Tank stickers but where the green edge is all the paint keeps bubbling up! Have phoned B&Q and they've agreed to refund the paint but that dosen't help get the room finished. They've said we've done everything right and sanded the edge and tried again and it's just the same again.
Can't understand it, we did exactly the same in our little girls room last year using Dulux and it's fine.
I've no idea what to do now?????

Yeh I do prefer the branded paints,we tend to stick to Crown,Dulux etc.

Yeh it's the time you put into aswell as the actual cost of the paint,I be annoyed too.

Buying cheap anything does not pay .
Stay with Dulux the extra money is worth it.

The cause is maybe the base or first paint was not quite dry enough.

i have used B&Q paint in every room of our flat and its perfect

I found it ok, not the greatest quality. Wilkinsons is good, I find it just as good as Dulux

Thank but that dosen't help me now, getting plenty of that from hubby too! base was well dry done last week and the rest at the weekend, we've sanded it and now we've tried again and the paint is all peeling off. Going to phone them in the morning but don't think I'll get any further just so peed off should have been a quick job and it's turning into a complete disaster. Reckon even if we use Dulux now it'll still come off

Not the case here tho, my husband is very good tradsman, built most of our house. He just kept quiet whan I brought home the paint cause he didn't want to upset me

I was not at all impressed with their product for covering up thin cracks and pin holes, was thinner than Dulux emulsion and peeled when the roller with the new paint went over it...

was just a thought wasnt sayng you hadnt ,could just have been a rougue tin ive used b&q as have millions of others i personally think dulux paints are rubbish

Would adding PVA glue to the paint help? Honest suggestion, no idea if it would work or not! Can anyone confirm?

Sounds like the paint is not breathing, leave it a couple of hours and it should shrink into place, failing that paint a mist coat of blue on the bottom 3:1 paint/water first.
    Its a false economy,
Always pay the extra for the trade paint Dulux trade, Albany Trade and Giddons trade are quality paint's.

Are you using matt over silk?
You can paint over a matt surface, but you can't paint matt over a surface thats been painted silk unless you sand it down to give it a key.
    Just a thought...

We used sme b&q paint once and never again. We masked off the skirting boards and when we pulled the masking tape off the paint started peeling off the wall. It was almost like a thin plasticy sheet. Never had that happen before or since with other brands of paint.

I've never had any bother with b&q paint, maybe its down to each individual wall or maybe there are some 'off' tins

we ended up sanding ours and finishing the edges with a small brush. It was still all lumpy though and it wasnt long before we ending up painting over it. Maybe you could use a small brush to meet up neatly with the other colour or perhaps you could get a sticky border to go around over the join.

Can't do that really as it's a Thomas the Tank bedroom and the green is the hills backing on to blue sky then I'm adding Thomas.
Why don't I just have beige rooms like my mates!!!
