Combi boilers are preferred on new builds as they are simplest to install - no cylinder and no cold water tanks in the loft.

For boiler replacements on a standard system the system pipework has to be modified.

They are generally cheaper to run as the use of hot water is more efficient than a typical hot water cylinder system. They can be slightly more inconvenient as the hot water available is limited to the boilers capacity and hence running baths can be slow.

If you have solar panels then you probably want a cylinder system to take advantage of the solar generated electricity to heat the cylinder via an immersion heater.

combi sounds fine for you. 24-28 kw should be all you need. higher end are Worcester and vailant. stay away from cheap combis. the new ones should reduce your gas bill. they are energy-efficient taking energy from the flue .
'Can you recommend the new boiler replacement process and product price?'

Search around locally for heating engineers, look for ones that have an established business, ideally 10 years plus, but don't disregard new companies if there recommended.
I'd opt for one that offers a boiler protection service, (although you will not need this for a new one as the manufacturers warranty will cover you for the first couple of years depending on brand) but this means there accustomed to servicing and repairing boilers.
Pop into your local plumbing wholesaler, ask for popular combi boiler brochures, get talking to the guy on the trade counter, ask him for the cash price of a popular boiler, don't be surprised if its £1000 for boiler alone, your installer will get this cheaper, whether they pass that discount on to you is another matter though...
Ask him if he has any business cards for local installers.

'How to decide which boiler we should install ?'

This will normally be determined by your installer, but you could insist on a particular model of course, established installers tend to stick to the same brand, they become familiar with the installation, and will have a supplier in place who can supply spares should they be needed.

.

Have look here mrcentralheating.co.uk/pac…ler, this will give you an indication of overall costs.

Once you have narrowed the installer search down to at least 3, have them round for a free quote and take it from there.
