try your local cobblers/key cutting place, most these days are geared up for programming keys/fobs.

I purchased a 56plate Vauxhall Astra 3weeks ago, that also came with one key. I phoned the Vauxhall dealership who quoted £100 for a new one all programmed up. Though I would need to bring my logbook, driving licence and the code card that came with the car to get it done same time.

If you get it done at VX make sure they check for other keys coded to the car and get them to cancel them so they don't work any-more.

Ring around as price varies between dealers, when i last got mine done they just charged for the key not the programming

Just found this while looking through the net

I have just got a new key from a very helpful chap at Bouldins on Green Lane Rd in Leicester. He has the ADK machine and can supply cut and program keys and he dosent need the car pass (but will need your car to plug into). There are many of these machines up and down the country if you need a key contact Steve on 07793373794. I saved £50 by not going to Vauxhall to get a new key. Reply With Quote .

I followed up the guy mentioned by Dillmiester in Leicester.
Bad news he quoted not much less than the main dealer for two new keys, cut and programmed, including remotes (not alarm). He also said for an 03 Astra he could not work without the Car Pass which would be another £25. Vauhall had quoted over £200 for the two keys.
Good news he said there was a web site where you can locate local firms that use the same equipment to programme and cut keys. You put in your post code and it comes up with a list.
Using this found a local guy who works from home and comes to your door. Now looking at £110 for 2 keys and remotes plus £15 for the car pass which he gets from Vauxhall (All + the VAT). He takes the VIN and plate number to get the Car pass, which is a good investment anyway.
Guess I am saving about £70 + by avoiding the main dealer.

How much did you pay fella?

Im going back around 3 years now, was £50 all in

But if a key is missing defiantly worth getting it removed from the ECU
