Hay there, its really really good if your old enough!!! but whether old enough or not its a game that has to be played, even by people aged younger than 18, although its whether you feel that your child or youngster is able to accept the game as what it is, a game.

And unlucky for west ham today, though they deserved all 3 matey!

It has an age rating of 18.
So it's suitable/bearable for 18+ only.

Although lots of people, inc me under 18 will get it.

In my honest opinion im not sure its suitable for younger users but could be ok for teens, the missions can vary from steeling cars to murdering along with any other thing that is illegal! I personally love the game. Your children would prob love the game, it just depends on what you feel is acceptable and also there age.

Ive been playing GTA since i was about 13-14 and i would like to think it did not warp my mind!

I guess it all depends what you personally think, and how old they are.

its 18 rated for a reason because it contains adult type material - is a adult rated film suitable for a child does that even sound like a question worth answering. If you really want to know yep you can smash the car door windows of cars to steal them, you can get drunk in the game, swearing yep thats in the game, you can go to strip clubs and get lapdances from strippers who are wearing less clothing then a bikini clad babe

I'm going be getting this game and my son will be wanting to have a least drive round,he does know its just a comp game.
It's not fair to be playing it and then for him to want a go in the car and then say no you can't.
It's not like I'm just letting him play it like any other game,1 that be too hard and 2 some of it will be certainly unnacceptable.
He knows end of day its just a comp game and whatever we see stays on that and where the line is drawn.

It's more for him to go about in the cars really,he won't be following the storyline as such.

Thinking about how it is just to let them play the game throughout in their rooms on their and whatever, then I'd probably say about 13 or so upwards.

I be just letting 1 of mine just have a go in the car really.nothing much more.

But obviosuly I will decide when the game is actually on and how I feel,I can't say 100% till we got the game.

Another thing to think about is whether their friends are going to have it and playing it. Because A) your kid might just go round and play it anyway and B) if everyone else has it then it will suck to hear them at school talking about it, lol

crime, violence, sex...the usual

give it to the 5year olds. if they cry, its either bad or they're a lil woos!

Didn't the Bryon report cost the government/taxpayer about £250k in the end........

stealing even. jeez.

This 18 tag is just to cover themselves , let em play , i been watching "18" horrors since a small child ....i would throw a fit if i wasnt allowed LOL

I was to spoilt as a kid though i usually got what i wanted

Let teens play them but i wouldn't advice under 15 really

When i watch horrors and as a child i didnt think just cause they were stabbings or what ever it maybe in the movie that you could go out and do it...its called common sense & obviously me not wanting to do it.

Its bull when people say someone watched a movie and went out and did a murder , it has to be in them in the first place to want to go out and murder ,, watching a film or playing a game cant make you go out and do anything you already dont want to do.

If you think your kids are a bit thick and have no common sense & are capable of copying the game by robbing cars and killing people then don't let them play

Just found this on the bbc site

I would say it's fine. My two (6 and 9) are allowed to play GTA Vice City on PS2 occasionally, but only along with me. They see it a realistic driving game and don't punch anyone etc!

My nephew used to play the vice city version when he was about 6 but he never understood the game and used to just drive around. He was monitored and had the sound turned off. He is now 12 and is due to get the game and will play it in full. Usually my OH plays them first to let my sister know about the content.
I think it depends on the child, you know best. You could always hire it first and see for yourself

I think you should quiz your child...

1. Write down as many 'naughty words' as you can in 1 minute.
2. Describe sex.
3. Do you know what drugs are?
4. Does animated violence scar you for life?

If they dont respond well enough, don't buy it for them. If they do respond well, punish yourself as you have raised a little terror and reward them with a shiny new game.

I'd say by 15 / 16 kids are at about the right age to play it (uncensored). If you're going to let them play it before then, modify the in-game volumes and turn the voice volume down. Its only a matter of time before some small child pops out and kills his mate, which will then get blamed on GTA4 and then on the parents for letting them play it. So personally for me, its 18 for a reason....follow the box rating

Next time a child burns themselves in the kitchen, cooking mama wont take the blame.

Some Game ratings are a joke, once you get to 14 you've seen/heard pretty much everything gta has to offer through tv programmes imo.
